THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR THE WESTERN TWO THIRDS OF

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

A MOIST WESTERLY FLOW WILL KEEP A THREAT OF LIGHT VALLEY RAIN AND
MOUNTAIN SNOW ACROSS THE NORTHWEST OUTLOOK AREA TODAY. MOISTURE
WILL INCREASE TONIGHT WITH VALLEY RAIN AND MOUNTAIN SNOW BECOMING
MORE WIDESPREAD ACROSS THE NORTH OVERNIGHT. SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL
IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS ABOVE ABOUT 7000 FEET. STRONG
WINDS WILL ALSO DEVELOP ACROSS THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS AND WILL
CREATE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

VALLEY RAIN AND HIGH ELEVATION MOUNTAIN SNOW WILL CONTINUE ACROSS
THE NORTHERN OUTLOOK AREA SUNDAY THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT. HEAVY SNOW
AND STRONG WINDS WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS AT HIGHER
ELEVATIONS. RAIN IS EXPECTED BELOW ABOUT 7500 TO 8000 FEET
RESULTING IN A REDUCED IMPACT ACROSS THE SUMMITS OF MOST OF THE
MAJOR ROUTES THROUGH THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS.

SNOW LEVELS WILL FALL BACK DOWN TO AROUND 5000 FEET ON MONDAY BUT
PRECIPITATION WILL BE TURNING SHOWERY AND TAPERING OFF DURING THE
DAY AS WELL.

THERE WILL BE A CHANCE OF SNOW AGAIN ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE
OUTLOOK AREA WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND CHRISTMAS DAY.
