WEATHER SUMMARY FOR UPPER MISSISSIPPI RIVER VALLEY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LA CROSSE WI
310 PM CDT FRI APR 18 2014

HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE AREA PROVIDED FOR MAINLY SUNNY SKIES AND
ONLY LIGHT WINDS. THIS HELPED AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES RISE INTO THE
50S IN MOST PLACES. HOWEVER TEMPERATURES DID STAY IN THE 40S WHERE
THERE WAS STILL SNOW ON THE GROUND FROM CENTRAL MINNESOTA INTO
NORTHERN WISCONSIN FROM THE RECENT STORM SYSTEM.

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER WYOMING WILL MOVE INTO NORTH DAKOTA
OVERNIGHT...AND INTO SOUTHERN CANADA BY SATURDAY. SOUTHERLY WINDS
WILL PICK UP OVERNIGHT AND ESPECIALLY ON SATURDAY AHEAD OF THIS
SYSTEM...AND GUSTS OF 30 TO 35 MPH ARE EXPECTED BY AFTERNOON. BUT
THESE WINDS WILL ALSO BRING WARMER AIR INTO THE REGION...SENDING
HIGHS UP INTO THE 60S FOR THE LOCAL AREA. READINGS WILL RANGE FROM
THE 70S ACROSS CENTRAL IOWA...TO THE LOWER 50S OVER NORTHERN
WISCONSIN.

THE SYSTEM WILL SEND A COLD FRONT INTO THE AREA SATURDAY NIGHT...
AND IT LOOKS TO STALL OUT OVER THE REGION ON SUNDAY. THIS WILL
LEAD TO A GOOD CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.
