Regional Weather Summary for Western Kansas

Thunderstorms moved across parts of western Kansas overnight
and rain amounts were highly variable. Some of the higher amounts
were across Pawnee, eastern Edwards and northeastern Pratt
counties where totals were between an inch and inch and a half.
Some heavier rain also fell across western Finney county and Ellis
county. Skies were mostly sunny late this morning with
temperatures rising into the 70s and 80s.

An upper level disturbance will approach the central high plains
today. Widespread thunderstorms can be expected this afternoon and
tonight from western Nebraska into central and western Kansas and
northern Oklahoma. Some of the storms could be severe with large
hail and damaging winds. Otherwise, increasing cloudiness can be
expected this afternoon and tonight across the region.

Highs today are expected to range from the 80s in Nebraska to the
upper 90s in the Panhandles. Highs across western Kansas will be
mainly in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Lows tonight are predicted
to be mainly in the 60s across the region.
