REGIONAL WEATHER SUMMARY FOR WESTERN KANSAS

Gusty north winds of 20 to 30 mph this morning diminished by late
afternoon. Skies were mostly cloudy to start the day, but by early
afternoon there was plenty of sunshine. Temperatures were much
cooler today with highs mainly in the upper 40s to around 50.
An upper level ridge will build into the Western High Plains
tonight. The ridge is expected to move into Texas on Monday as an
upper level trough approaches the region from the west. A surface
trough in the lee of the Rockies will strengthen on Monday. Some
high level clouds will move through the region tonight. On Monday
temperatures will be much warmer, especially across the west. South
to southwest winds are expected to increase into the 20 to 30 mph
range during the afternoon from the Southern High Plains to
southwestern and central Kansas.
Low temperatures tonight will range from the mid 20s in eastern
Kansas to the mid 30s in the Nebraska Panhandle. Highs Monday will
range from the 70s across most of the Western High Plains to the mid
and upper 50s in far eastern Kansas.
