...HEAVY RAIN THROUGH EARLY MONDAY MORNING TO CONTINUE TO RAISE RIVER AND
STREAM LEVELS...

STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS OVER THE GULF OF ALASKA CONTINUES TO USHER
A VERY MOIST AIRMASS OVER YAKUTAT AND THE SURROUNDING AREA...RESULTING
IN HEAVY RAIN THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT. STORM TOTAL RAINFALL FROM THIS
EVENT IS EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM 4 TO 7 INCHES. ALREADY 2.59 INCHES
OF RAINFALL HAS FALLEN AT THE YAKUTAT AIRPORT SINCE SATURDAY MORNING.

THE SITUK RIVER NEAR YAKUTAT ROSE AROUND 1 FOOT OVERNIGHT TO 66.9
FEET BEFORE BEGINNING TO FALL SLIGHTLY SUNDAY MORNING. RAIN
WILL BECOME HEAVIER THIS AFTERNOON AND REMAIN HEAVY THROUGH LATE
SUNDAY NIGHT WHICH WILL LIKELY RAISE THE SITUK BY AROUND 3 FEET TO
70.3 FEET. SURROUNDING RIVERS AND LOCAL CULVERTS WILL RISE TO
COMPARABLE LEVELS. WHILE RIVERS WILL APPROACH BANKFULL SUNDAY
NIGHT, WATER LEVELS ARE FORECAST TO REMAIN BELOW MINOR FLOOD STAGE
OF 71.5 FEET.

TO FALL ONCE AGAIN TOWARD THIS EVENING.
