The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
  Northeastern Caldwell County in western North Carolina...

* Until midnight EDT

* At 855 PM EDT, the Flood Advisory in effect is being replaced with
  a Flood Warning due to a public report of ongoing flooding in the
  Happy Valley community.  The heaviest rainfall has ended across
  the advisory area.  Six hour rainfall accumulations of one to
  three inches have occurred.  Additional accumulations will be
  less than a half inch this evening.

* The public is reporting a closed residential bridge near Yadkin
  River as well as the closure of River Rd. and Indian Grave Rd.
  due to flooding of Yadkin River near the Happy Valley community.

* Scattered, nuisance stream flooding may be occurring including
  along:
  Yadkin River, Wolfpen Creek, Buffalo Creek, Laytown Creek,
  Mill Creek, and Strutton Creek.

* The following streamgauge will exceed Action Stage:
  Yadkin River at Patterson
  Current Stage: 4.56 feet
  Action Stage: 4.00 feet
  Minor Flood Stage: 5.00 feet
  Forecasted Crest: Below 5.50 feet
  Impacts:
  .At 5.00 feet, Indian Grave Rd in the Happy Valley Community
  and Cheeks Cross Road may be flooded.  Backyard flooding of homes
  adjacent to the river may be flooded.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Patterson and Kings Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall is causing flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, as well as farmland, drainages,
and other low-lying areas.  Avoid flooded roadways and please
Turn Around, Don`t Drown.

When it is safe to do so, please report flood waters or landslides
flowing over roads or threatening property to the National Weather
Service by calling toll free, 1, 800, 2 6 7, 8 1 0 1, by posting on
our Facebook page, or via Twitter using hashtag NWSGSP.
