...Patchy fog and low clouds will hamper travel through the
Monday morning commute...

Patchy fog is present in many areas in the Piedmont of VA and NC,
the Blue Ridge foothills, New River and Roanoke Valleys this
morning. Visibilities of 1 to 4 miles have been common, though at
times have dropped as low as one-quarter mile. Fog will continue
through the morning commute, thinning out into the mid-morning
hours as a cold front moves eastward.

Expect rapid changes in visibility in fog through 10 AM. Use
caution if fog is encountered. Drivers should reduce speeds and
using low- beam headlights in foggy areas. This will impact areas
vulnerable to fog such as on I-77 near Fancy Gap, VA.
