The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern Wilson County in southeastern Kansas...
  Northern Neosho County in southeastern Kansas...
  Woodson County in southeastern Kansas...
  Allen County in southeastern Kansas...

* Until 745 PM CDT

* At 627 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Toronto, or
  15 miles southwest of Yates Center, moving east at 60 mph.

  HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
           mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Chanute, Iola, Humboldt, Yates Center, La Harpe, Gas, Moran,
  Buffalo, Neosho Falls, Savonburg, Elsmore, Benedict, Stark,
  Mildred, Bassett, Petrolia, Rose, Chanute Airport, Iola Airport and
  Piqua.

This storm has a history of producing 70 mph wind gusts.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move immediately to shelter inside a strong building. Stay
away from windows.
