The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has extended
the

* Flood Warning for...
  Central Cabarrus County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...

* Until 145 PM EST

* At 932 AM EST, reporting gauges indicate significant rises
  approaching flood stage on the Rocky River and its tributaries.
  The high water levels will continue as runoff from earlier heavy
  rainfall moves downstream.

* The gauge on Back Creek at Caldwell Road was at 16.16
  feet...likely creating minor flooding along Back Creek south of
  Harrisburg near the intersection of Robinson Church Road and
  Stallings Road which is near the Middleton and Rocky Meadows
  subdivisions. High water levels upstream of this gauge will cause
  the river to continue to rise. A crest of 16.5 feet is probable.
  At this level, Pharr Mill Road between Rocky River Road and
  Sequoia Hill Road may be submerged by up to 1 foot of water.
  Flood water may approach Stallings Road and Mount Pleasant Road.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Do not attempt to cross
water-covered roadways, bridges, or low-level crossings. Only a few
inches of rapidly flowing water can carry away your vehicle. It is
not worth the risk. Please TURN AROUND, DON`T DROWN.

When it is safe to do so, please report flood waters or landslides
flowing over roads or threatening property to the National Weather
Service by calling toll free, 1, 800, 2 6 7, 8 1 0 1, by posting on
our Facebook page, or via Twitter using hashtag NWSGSP. Your message
should describe the event and the specific location where it
occurred, including roadways, nearby cross streets, stream names and
other landmarks.
