...A crest near flood stage is forecast for the following locations
along the Red River...
For the Red River near Gainesville...
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* The latest stage was 17.16 feet at 8 AM Saturday.
* The Red River is forecast to crest near 24.0 feet
* Impact...When the Red River reaches 24.0 feet near Gainesville...
Low-lying fields...upstream in western Love County in Oklahoma...
and Cooke County in Texas...may experience shallow overflows
several hours before the crest reaches the Interstate Highway I-35
crossing north of Gainesville. Sandpit operations may be affected.
Livestock and other property should be removed to places which are
higher than nearby river banks to avoid being stranded.
People in flood prone areas should continue to monitor water
levels...and be prepared to seek higher ground should water levels
rise suddenly. Stay tuned for further information by listening to
