Hot and humid conditions will continue across the region today
as afternoon temperatures reach the low to mid 90s. A cold front
will move across the region tonight through Wednesday morning.
Expect scattered thunderstorms to develop in advance of the front
across northern areas this afternoon. Scattered to numerous
showers and thunderstorms will spread across the Mid-South
tonight. A few strong to severe storms are possible this afternoon
into tonight. By Wednesday the best chances for showers and
thunderstorms will confined mainly to North Mississippi. A much
cooler and drier airmass will build in behind the front with highs
only in the 80s and lows mainly in the 60s from midweek into the
weekend. The remnants of tropical storm Harvey could move into the
region by early next week along with the possibility of heavy
rainfall.
