...Elevated fire weather conditions are expected to develop today...

As a dry airmass moves across Upper Michigan, relative humidity
values are expected to drop down into the 20s across much of
Upper Michigan. It is possible that a few locations may see
relative humidity values drop down into the teens in a few
locations. Across the Keweenaw Peninsula and along the shores of
Lake Superior, relative humidities will remain somewhat elevated
in the 30 to 40 percent range. As we progress through the late
morning and afternoon hours, westerly winds are expected to
increase in speed with gusts up to 30 to 40 mph, especially across
the Keweenaw Peninsula and the northern portions of Upper
Michigan. Across southern portions of Upper Michigan, wind gusts
will be slightly lower, with possible gusts up to 20 to 30 mph.
Temperatures will be cooler than yesterday, while remaining 10 to
15 degrees above normal.
