The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Arroyo and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Roosevelt County in east central New Mexico...
East central Chaves County in southeastern New Mexico...
Southern Curry County in east central New Mexico...

* Until 545 AM MDT.

* At 241 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated additional areas of
moderate to heavy rain due to thunderstorms over southern portions
of Curry county and much of Roosevelt county in eastern New
Mexico. Heavy rainfall from earlier storms have left soils nearly
saturated in some portions of the advisory area. The additional
rainfall will lead to ponding of water in low lying areas
and possible flooding within the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Clovis, Portales, Farwell, Texico, Melrose, Elida, Dora, Floyd,
  Causey and Milnesand.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage areas and low lying spots.
