An area of low pressure tracks to the south, then southeast, of Long
Island through tonight. The result will be periods of rain today,
tapering off from west to east across the Tri-State this afternoon
and early this evening. Highs today will run around 10 to 15 degrees
below normal, mainly from the mid 50s to around 60.

High pressure nosing in from southeastern Canada should produce a
dry night tonight, with lows a few degrees below normal. A frontal
boundary approaches from the west Tuesday, then crosses the area
Tuesday night. As a result should see isolated to scattered showers
and thunderstorms on Tuesday, then more numerous showers with
isolated thunderstorms Tuesday night. Highs Tuesday should be 5 to
10 degrees below normal.

A weak cold front will bring another round of isolated to scattered
showers from Wednesday into Wednesday evening, with some embedded
thunderstorms possible as well, Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Highs Wednesday should be a few degrees above normal.
