...Indianapolis NWR Broadcast Resumes and Being Monitored for

The broadcast from NOAA Weather Radio-All Hazards station KEC-74
from Indianapolis resumed this afternoon, September 6, after a
prolonged outage. The length of the outage was a result of multiple
issues with telephone companies, including hours of service and
priorities. Other than a brief return to service on Friday, the
outage had been ongoing since the evening of Friday, August 26.

The broadcast is being monitored for stability before designating
the issue resolved. If you hear disruptions to the broadcast or from
any of our other transmitters please let us know by either sending

Listeners experiencing outages are advised to tune in a surrounding
NOAA Weather Radio Station, visit our website at, call our forecast and climate telephone
recording at 317-856-0664, or watch/listen to our media partners for
weather information needs.

KEC-74 is a 1000-watt radio station transmitting from the east side
of Indianapolis on a frequency of 162.550 MHz, providing general
weather and climate information as well as emergency information
pertaining to both meteorological and technological threats. Warning
service of these threats is provided to the central Indiana counties
of Tipton, Madison, Delaware, Boone, Hamilton, Henry, Hendricks,
Marion, Hancock, Morgan, Johnson, Shelby, Rush, and Decatur.  More
