The National Weather Service in The San Francisco Bay Area has
extended the

* Flood Warning for Small Streams in...
  Northwestern Monterey County in central California...

* Until 1245 AM PST Sunday

* At 1236 PM PST,  the real-time stream gage in the Salinas River
  lagoon continues to report water level above flood stage. The
  current stage is 6.43 feet and active flooding begins at 6.0 feet.

* Flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of northwestern
  Monterey County.

* Flooding is due to surge from very high surf, and will continue
  through the evening and into early Sunday morning when the swell
  starts to decrease. There will also be fluctuations due to tidal

* The City of Marina WILL NOT be flooded, but local farmland and
  rural and primitive roads on the lower floodplain west of Highway
  1 should be avoided.


Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
