National Weather Service Quad Cities IA IL
1018 AM CDT FRI JUL 29 2016
Low clouds and fog developed across Eastern Iowa, Western
Illinois and Northeast Missouri overnight. Drizzle was reported
in parts of Western Illinois, but overall, most locations
remained dry. Temperatures were near normal, with lows ranging
from 70 degrees in the Quad Cities, to 62 degrees at Macomb.
Cooler air will affect the region today, along with clouds, showers
and a few thunderstorms. The best chances for rain will be during
the afternoon and evening as a slow moving disturbance near the
Nebraska Iowa border pushes east. Scattered showers will linger
across parts of Northeast Iowa and Northwest Illinois on Saturday.
Enjoy the brief summer respite because heat and humidity will
return to the region next week. Until then expect temperatures
to reach the mid to upper 70s today, the lower 60s tonight, and
warm to the upper 70s to lower 80s on Saturday.
