WEATHER SUMMARY FOR THE MIDSOUTH

SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE WILL KEEP DRY AND SEASONABLY COOL WEATHER IN
PLACE ACROSS THE MID SOUTH TODAY AND TONIGHT. A CLIPPER TYPE
SYSTEM WILL DROP QUICKLY ACROSS THE REGION ON WEDNESDAY BRINGING
CHANCES FOR SHOWERS...MAINLY ACROSS AREAS NORTH OF INTERSTATE 40.
THIS SYSTEM WILL USHER IN COLDER TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE REGION
FOR THANKSGIVING DAY BUT WITH A RETURN TO DRY CONDITIONS.

A WARMING TREND WILL BEGIN ON FRIDAY AND CONTINUE THROUGH THE
HOLIDAY WEEKEND AS SOUTHERLY WINDS TRANSPORT WARMER AND MOISTER
AIR NORTHWARD FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO. THE INCREASED MOISTURE AND
WEAK LIFT WILL INCREASE CHANCES FOR SCATTERED SHOWERS LATE IN THE
WEEKEND...ESPECIALLY ACROSS NORTHERN AREAS. MUCH WARMER CONDITIONS
ARE ANTICIPATED THROUGH THE WEEKEND WITH TEMPERATURES REBOUNDING
TO SEVERAL DEGREES ABOVE SEASONAL AVERAGES.

THE UNSEASONABLY WARM WEATHER WILL CONTINUE INTO THE BEGINNING OF
DECEMBER WITH INCREASING POTENTIAL FOR SHOWERS AND A FEW
THUNDERSTORMS AS THE NEXT COLD FRONT APPROACHES TOWARD THE MIDDLE
OF NEXT WEEK.
