WEATHER SUMMARY FOR THE MIDSOUTH
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MEMPHIS TN
402 AM CDT TUE JUL 28 2015

AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE CENTERED OVER THE SOUTHERN
PLAINS EXTENDS EASTWARD INTO THE MID SOUTH. THIS SHOULD AGAIN
SUPPORT MAINLY DRY AND HOT CONDITIONS OVER MUCH OF THE AREA TODAY.
THERE MAY BE AN ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM ACROSS AREAS EAST OF THE
MISSISSIPPI RIVER LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...BUT MOST
LOCATIONS WILL REMAIN RAIN FREE TODAY. THE COMBINATION OF
TEMPERATURES IN THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 90S AND HUMID CONDITIONS WILL
SUPPORT HEAT INDEX VALUES ABOVE 105 DEGREES THIS
AFTERNOON...THEREFORE A HEAT ADVISORY WILL REMAIN OVER THE ENTIRE
MID SOUTH TODAY.

THE UPPER RIDGE SHOULD BEGIN TO WEAKEN ON WEDNESDAY WHICH SHOULD
ALLOW A COLD FRONT TO APPROACH FROM THE NORTH. HOT AND HUMID
WEATHER SHOULD CONTINUE AHEAD OF THE FRONT FOR MUCH OF THE DAY.
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD DEVELOP ALONG AND AHEAD
OF THE FRONT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON INTO THURSDAY AS IT SLOWLY
MOVES ACROSS THE AREA.

HIGH PRESSURE WILL REBUILD INTO THE REGION FOR THE END OF THE WEEK
INTO THE WEEKEND WITH SLIGHTLY COOLER TEMPERATURES AND LESS HUMID
CONDITIONS. DRY WEATHER WILL ALSO PERSIST THROUGH THE WEEKEND AND
INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK.
