The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Dona Ana County in south central New Mexico...

* Until 600 PM MDT.

* At 405 PM MDT, Thunderstorms were producing torrential rainfall
  over the Dona Ana Mountains. These storms will slowly drift
  towards the valley, and runoff is expected to inundate several low
  water crossings along upper portions of Del Rey Boulevard, La
  Reina Road, and Goat Hill Road. Flood prone areas in the community
  of Hill may also be impacted.

Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall
amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Leasburg, Las Cruces, Dona Ana, Hill and Northeast Las Cruces.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
