...The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a flood
warning for the following rivers in South Carolina...

  Wateree River At Lake Wateree affecting Fairfield...Kershaw and
  Lancaster Counties

.Recent rainfall across the Catawba and Wateree River basins of
of 3 to 5 inches has produced a steady rise of the pool level
of Lake Wateree. The pool will continue to rise through today
before leveling off just above 100.0 feet tonight into Saturday.


Safety message...never drive vehicles through flooded areas. The
water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow children to
play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to noaa weather radio...

The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a

* Flood Warning for
  The Wateree River At Lake Wateree
* from this afternoon to Monday morning...Or until the warning is
* At  8 AM Friday the stage was 99.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 100.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* forecast...The river will rise above flood stage early this
afternoon and continue to rise to 100.1 feet this evening. The river
will fall below flood stage by Sunday May 28.
* At 100.4 feet...The water begins to overflow one or more marinas
  along the northwest shores. The piers on the Wildlife Road bridge
  over Singleton Creek become submerged.
