Weather Summary for Upper Mississippi River Valley

Showers and storms were occurring this morning over portions of
the Dakotas into Nebraska and Kansas ahead of area of low
pressure that was centered over western Kansas. Clouds from this
system covered much of the Upper Midwest and temperatures were in
the 50s and 60s.
The showers and storms are expected to weaken this morning but
remain together as they advance to the east. By late afternoon,
they should be over the eastern portions of Minnesota and Iowa into
Wisconsin and Illinois. Skies will be mostly cloudy through the
day which will keep temperatures a few degrees cooler with highs
mainly in the 70s.
The showers and storms will move out of the area this evening with
a small chance for some additional rain through the overnight.
There will be better chances for rain overnight across the Dakotas
into western Minnesota and over northern Missouri and southern
Iowa. Low temperatures tonight should be in the 50s and 60s.
