Rip Current Risk:      Low Risk. The Risk for rip currents is low,
                       however, life threatening rip currents often
                       occur in the vicinity of the South Padre Island
                       jetties. Remember to swim near a lifeguard.

Lightning Risk:       Moderate.

Ultraviolet Index:     Extreme. Wear a wide-brimmed hat and
                       sunglasses, and use sunscreen of SPF 15
                       or higher. Remain in the shade if possible.

Weather:               Mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms
                       possible. 40 percent chance of rain.

Temperatures:          Upper 80s.

Wind:                  East 10 to 15 mph.

Wave Heights:          1 to 2 feet.

Surf Temperature:      85 degrees.

Bay Temperature:       87 degrees.

Tides:                 A high at 8 36 am.

Outlook:               An elevated risk of rip currents is possible
                       from Wednesday night through the weekend due
                       to increasing winds and building seas across
                       the nearshore waters. Rain and thunderstorms
                       will be possible Wednesday and Thursday this
                       week before conditions become dry for Friday
                       and the upcoming weekend.
