At 119 AM CST/1219 AM MST/, Doppler radar indicated the leading edge
of an area of snow along a line extending from near Berwyn to 6 miles
north of Venango, moving southwest at 15 mph.

Moderate to heavy snow was falling in the Central Sandhills around
Stapleton...Thedford...Broken Bow...Burwell and Dunning with
visibility around 1/2 mile. This snow was nearly stationary.

Light...moderate and heavy snow is expected overnight with snowfall
rates of up to 1 inch per hour. This snow is expected to slowly
decrease in intensity through 6 am CST with light snow and flurries

Blowing snow will continue with winds gusting to 35 mph. This will
reduce visibility to less than 100 yards in spots. Heavy drifting
has occurred across the Sandhills and is expected to continue
overnight through Friday morning which has resulted in blocked roads
in Holt County. Sand roads in many areas may also become blocked.

All of this snow was part of a major winter storm which has produced
6 to 13 inches of snow across parts of Western and North Central

Gordon, Burwell, Chappell, Rushville, Oshkosh, Bassett, Hay Springs,
Mullen, Spencer, Big Springs, Stapleton, Springview, Taylor and

 Highway 183 between mile markers 73 and 225.
 Highway 20 between mile markers 75 and 328.
 Highway 250 between mile markers 1 and 48.
 Highway 281 between mile markers 132 and 223.
 Highway 2 between mile markers 96 and 307.
 Highway 61 between mile markers 78 and 231.
 Highway 92 between mile markers 115 and 308.
 Highway 97 between mile markers 1 and 141.
 Interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 78 and 199.
 Highway 12 between mile markers 1 and 135.
