At 553 AM CST/453 AM MST/, Doppler radar indicated heavy snow along
a line extending from near Valentine to 10 miles southeast of
Medicine Lake to 16 miles south of Merriman to 20 miles north of
Ellsworth, moving east at 15 mph.

1 to 2 inch per hour snowfall rates are occurring in this area which
could last for several hours this morning.

This snow was part of a major winter storm which will affect Western
and North Central Nebraska through Friday with up to 18 inches of
snow.

Locations impacted include...
Valentine, Medicine Lake, Crookston, Steer Creek Campground, Big
Hill, Highway 61 Crossing The Snake River, Highway 97 Crossing The
Niobrara River, Billys Lake, Morgan Lake, Schoolhouse Lake, Sparks,
Smith Lake State Wildlife Management Area, Anderson Bridge State
Wildlife Management Area, Diamond Lake, Intersection Of Highway 61
And Shadbolt Road, Smith Falls State Park, Indian Hill and Argo Hill.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 20 between mile markers 179 and 204.
 Highway 250 between mile markers 13 and 35.
 Highway 61 between mile markers 188 and 214.
 Highway 97 between mile markers 120 and 141.
 Highway 12 between mile markers 1 and 24.
