Weather Summary for Western and North Central Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
653 PM CDT MON AUG 22 2016 /553 PM MDT MON AUG 22 2016/

South winds picked up across the region today as western Nebraska
sat between an exiting high pressure system and an approaching
cold front. The wind and abundant sunshine early in the afternoon helped
push temperatures into the lower 90s for much of the area.

Breezy conditions will continue overnight along with partly to
mostly clear skies. Lows will be fairly mild east of Highway 83
with mid to upper 60s expected. The panhandle and western
Sandhills will be slightly cooler in the lower 60s. Highs will
reach the 90s again for southwest and central Nebraska on Tuesday
before the cold front arrives. Scattered afternoon and evening
storms are possible, with some capable of producing hail and
strong winds east of Highway 83.
