Weather Summary for Western and North Central Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
858 PM CDT Wed Jun 21 2017 /758 PM MDT Wed Jun 21 2017/

An area of low pressure over the Great Plains drew seasonably hot
air into western Nebraska, producing record to near record
temperatures. Highs ranged from the mid 90s in north central
Nebraska to over 100 throughout southwest Nebraska. Isolated
thunderstorms developed in parts of central Nebraska this evening,
producing hail and heavy rain.

Any remaining storms over Custer County and adjacent areas will
dissipate by late evening, although a new round of storms is
possible over far northern Nebraska overnight. Otherwise, partly
cloudy skies are expected. Lows will generally be in the lower
60s. A cold front will drop through the state on Thursday, keeping
highs in the 80s and bringing breezy north winds. Scattered
thunderstorms will develop in the evening, with some capable of
hail and strong winds south of Interstate 80.
