TODAY...FOLLOWING THE PASSAGE OF THE YESTERDAYS POTENT COLD
FRONT...HIGH TEMPERATURES ACROSS WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL
NEBRASKA STRUGGLED INTO THE 70S. THESE HIGH TEMPERATURES...WERE
NEARLY 15 TO 30 DEGREES BELOW WERE THEY WERE 24 HOURS AGO AT THE
SAME LOCATIONS. FURTHERMORE...HIGH TEMPERATURES FOR TODAY...FRIDAY...AUGUST
NINETIETH 2016 WERE 10 TO NEARLY 15 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL FOR THIS
DATE. IN ADDITION TO COOLER CONDITIONS...CLOUDY SKIES AND
SCATTERED LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS MOVED ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE REGION.
WINDS WERE FROM THE NORTH TO NORTHEAST AT 10 TO 20 MILES PER
HOUR...WITH GUSTS AS HIGH AS 40 MPH.

TONIGHT...A CHILLY AND DREARY NIGHT FOR THE THIRD WEEK OF AUGUST
IS IN STORE FOR MOST LOCATIONS ACROSS THE REGION. LOW TEMPERATURES
WILL FALL INTO THE 40S TO MID 50S...WHICH IS NEARLY 10 TO 15
DEGREES BELOW NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR. RAIN SHOWERS AND
EVEN A FEW RUMBLES OF THUNDER ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH MUCH OF THE
EVENING HOURS...WITH A GRADUAL DECREASE IN PRECIPITATION CHANCES
FROM WEST TO EAST MOVING INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOURS ON SATURDAY.
AT THIS TIME...THOSE AREAS ALONG AND NORTH OF NEBRASKA HIGHWAY 2
WILL HAVE THE BEST CHANCE OF SEEING MEASURABLE PRECIPITATION.
