Weather Summary for Western and North Central Nebraska

A front spread across the Sandhills today separated near record
warmth in the south from closer to season normals in north central
Nebraska. Under mostly sunny skies, highs topped 100 degrees at
Imperial, North Platte, and Ogallala. Widespread 90s were
recorded in the panhandle and southern Sandhills, while portions
of north central Nebraska remained in the 80s.

Fair conditions will continue for much of the region overnight,
although a spotty thunderstorm is possible north of Highway 20.
Lows will generally be in the lower to mid 60s. The heat will
continue into Wednesday as mid to upper 90s are expected for all
of western Nebraska. Isolated thunderstorms are possible during
the afternoon and evening, primarily east of Highway 83. Hail and
strong winds are the main threats. Additional storms are possible
Wednesday night for areas north of Highway 2.
