WEATHER SUMMARY FOR WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NORTH PLATTE NE
751 AM CDT TUE MAR 24 2015 /651 AM MDT TUE MAR 24 2015/

OVERNIGHT...SHOWERS MOVED ACROSS THE SOUTHEASTERN PANHANDLE AND
SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA...MAINLY ALONG AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80.
RAINFALL AMOUNTS RANGED FROM 7 HUNDREDTHS IN IMPERIAL...5
HUNDREDTHS IN OGALLALA...TO ONLY A TRACE IN NORTH PLATTE. LOW
TEMPERATURES ACROSS WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA RANGED FROM
THE LOW 30S IN THE PLATTE RIVER VALLEY...TO THE MID TO UPPER 30S
OVER THE REST OF THE REGION. WINDS WERE FROM THE SOUTH TO
SOUTHEAST AT 10 TO 25 MILES PER HOUR...UNDER PARTLY TO MOSTLY
CLOUDY SKIES.

TODAY WILL FEATURE A WIDE VARIETY OF WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS
WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA. THE FIRST WILL BE THE CHANCE
FOR PRECIPITATION ACROSS THE EASTERN SANDHILLS AND NORTH CENTRAL
NEBRASKA...AS WELL AS ALONG AND NORTH OF UNITED STATES HIGHWAY 20.
THE BEST CHANCE FOR PRECIPITATION TODAY WILL BE ACROSS NORTH
CENTRAL NEBRASKA. THE SECOND WEATHER FEATURE OF NOTE IS THE HIGH
FIRE DANGER ALONG AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80 IN SOUTHWESTERN
NEBRASKA. WARM TEMPERATURES IN THE MID TO UPPER 60S...BRISK
NORTHWEST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MILES PER HOUR...AND RELATIVE HUMIDITY
VALUES AS LOW AS 15 PERCENT WILL CREATE CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
CONDITIONS IN THIS REGION. FINALLY...DUE TO THE LACK OF
PRECIPITATION OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS AND STRONG WINDS
EXPECTED TODAY...BLOWING DUST IS POSSIBLE OVER THE SOUTHEASTERN
PANHANDLE AND SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA...WHICH MAY REDUCE
VISIBILITIES AT TIMES.
