846 PM CDT Tue Jul 25 2017 /746 PM MDT Tue Jul 25 2017/

Thunderstorms developed across the northern Sandhills this
afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front. Some storms
produced strong winds, small hail, and very heavy rain. A few
spotty storms affected far southwest Nebraska, primarily along the
Colorado border. Early sunshine and breezy south winds helped
push temperatures above 100 for many locations, including
Valentine at 107.

Storms will continue working east across northern Nebraska
tonight, while isolated storms are possible south of Highway 2.
Lows will be fairly mild in the mid to upper 60s. Winds will
switch to northerly overnight as the cold front pushes through the
area. Highs Wednesday will stay in the 80s with some remaining
showers east of Highway 83.
