Subject:     New River Forecast Service on the Elkhorn Creek at
             Peaks Mills KY

The National Weather Service upon coordination with local, state,
and federal officials is happy to announce that river forecasts will
now be available for the Elkhorn Creek at Peaks Mills. This location
is near Frankfort.

These forecasts will be issued everyday. In addition, the critical
levels for this location are:

Minor Flooding (flood stage): 10 feet
           Moderate Flooding: 12 feet
              Major Flooding: 14 feet

The NWS will provide statements, advisories, and warnings as
necessary, when the river is forecast to approach or exceed 10 feet.
Statements and warnings will continue until the river drops below 10
