The short term forecast for Southern Erie and Wyoming counties
and the western Southern Tier. Rain and wet snow continues to
move slowly across Southwest New York this afternoon. Some areas
will see a period of slushy wet snow as precipitation begins while
temperatures drop from near 40 quickly to near freezing. Expect
some accumulation on grassy areas, while roadways remain mostly

Travelers should always use caution when snow is falling.
Elevated surfaces and bridges can freeze much more quickly than
other sections of roads.

Any areas that see snow this afternoon should see a transition
back to rain later this afternoon and early evening. Any
accumulations will therefore melt away tonight.
