.NOW...
Through 800 am, scattered showers and a few isolated thunderstorms
will wax and wane across the Lower Keys, the Florida Straits, Hawk
Channel near the Lower Keys, and the nearshore and deep Gulf north
and west of the Lower Keys. This activity will drift generally to the
southwest at near 5 knots, though individual cell motion is somewhat
chaotic due to the slow movement. The strongest activity will
produce heavy downpours limiting visibility, wind gusts to near 25
knots, and occasional lightning strikes. A few Lower Keys island
communities may receive up to a tenth of an inch of rainfall
accumulation, with up to a half inch in any thunderstorm that
develops or moves across the island chain.
