Weather Summary for Upper Mississippi River Valley

Clouds were on the increase from west to east early this morning,
ahead of an encroaching surface front and line of showers and
thunderstorms across eastern Minnesota and north central Iowa. Low
temperatures so far this morning ranged from the mid 50s in northern
Wisconsin to the mid 60s in eastern Iowa.

The line of storms will be on a diminishing trend as they move
eastward across the local area this morning. The front will trigger
more showers and storms later this afternoon, however, sparking from
northern Wisconsin into eastern Iowa. A few strong, potentially
severe storms are possible as they move east into eastern Wisconsin
this evening. High temperatures today will range from near 70 in
northern Minnesota to the upper 80s over eastern Iowa. Lows tonight
will range from the mid 40s over northern Wisconsin to the mid 60s
in eastern Iowa.

Looking ahead, summer returns for the rest of the week with highs in
the 80s to lower 90s. Any rain chances look to hold to the west and
