REGIONAL WEATHER SUMMARY FOR WESTERN KANSAS
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DODGE CITY KS
1056 AM CDT THU AUG 27 2015 /956 AM MDT THU AUG 27 2015/
Only mid to high clouds were observed across western Kansas
overnight. Pre-dawn low temperatures ranged from the upper 60s in
eastern Colorado to the lower 70s in south central Kansas.
An upper level disturbance moving across the Central Rockies this
afternoon will move out into the Central Plains later this
afternoon and evening. This upper level feature will be
responsible for pushing a surface cold front across western Kansas
this afternoon. Thunderstorms are expected to develop along this
boundary later today. The primary threat from these storms will be
small hail and strong thunderstorm wind gusts. Cooler temperature
are expected on Friday.
Highs today will range from the upper 80s in northeastern Colorado
to the upper 90s along the Oklahoma border. Lows tonight will
range from the upper 50s in northeastern Colorado to the mid 70s
in central Oklahoma.
