Mild and windy conditions are expected again today before a period
of very cold temperatures and snow return by Saturday. Wind gusts up
to 65 mph are possible along the Rocky Mountain Front and adjacent
plains. Temperatures will rapidly fall tonight as a Canadian cold
front moves through Montana. Snow will develop along the
International Border Friday evening, then into central Montana by
midnight. The cold air and snow will push into southwest Montana on
Saturday. Heavy snow accumulations of a foot or more are possible in
the mountains along the Rocky Mountain Front with 2 to 5 inches
expected over the plains and valleys.
