...Thunderstorms Slowly Developing...

* Areas of Concern: Lake Tahoe region northward into the northern
Sierra and Lassen and Modoc Counties. Storms will slowly
develop through 2 PM and remain isolated. After 2 PM increased
storm coverage is likely mainly over Plumas, Lassen, and Modoc
  Counties.

* Main Hazards: Most storms will be garden variety but a few
strong to severe storms remain possible. These can produce
frequent lightning, damaging outflow winds, small hail, and
  heavy with with flooding.

* What Should I Do: If you`re in northeast California make sure
you have a method of receiving NWS alerts. If you`re out on the
lakes or the hiking trail in the Lassen or Plumas National
Forests, now is the time to consider heading to a safe shelter
before lightning becomes a hazard. A tent or canopy is not a
  safe shelter from lightning.
