Rip Current Risk:      Low risk. The risk for rip currents is low,
                       however, life threatening rip currents often
                       occur in the vicinity of the south padre island
                       jetties. Remember to swim near a lifeguard.

Lightning Risk:       None.

Ultraviolet Index:     Extreme. Wear a wide-brimmed hat and
                       sunglasses, and use sunscreen of SPF 15
                       or higher. Remain in the shade if possible.

Weather:               Partly cloudy.

Temperatures:          Low to mid 90s. Heat Index 108 to 109.

Wind:                  Southeast 15 to 20 mph.

Wave Heights:          1 foot; increasing to 2 to 3 feet this
                       afternoon.

Surf Temperature:      84 degrees.

Bay Temperature:       86 degrees.

Tides:                 A low at 8 58 pm.

Outlook:               An elevated risk of rip currents is likely
                       this evening into Tuesday. High temperatures
                       generally in the upper 80s to lower 90s into
                       next week. Chance of showers and thunderstorms
                       returns Tuesday through Thursday with a
                       developing inverted trough of low pressure and
                       increased moisture from the Gulf.
