HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHICAGO IL
433 AM CDT SUN JUN 7 2015

...PERIODS OF HEAVY RAINFALL EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE
EVENING...

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO REDEVELOP WITHIN A VERY
MOIST AIRMASS THIS AFTERNOON...THEN INCREASE IN AERIAL COVERAGE
INTO THIS EVENING...WHILE GRADUALLY SHIFTING SOUTHWARD. THESE
STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS...WITH
RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR AT TIMES. THERE IS ALSO
THE POTENTIAL THAT INDIVIDUAL STORMS COULD MOVE OVER THE SAME
AREAS AS PREVIOUS STORMS...THUS RESULTING IN EXTENDED PERIODS OF
HEAVY RAIN. IF THIS DOES OCCUR...THIS COULD RESULT IN FLASH
FLOODING AND RAPID RIVER RISES. CURRENTLY THE CHICAGO METRO
AREA APPEARS MOST FAVORED TO SEE THE HEAVIEST RAIN THIS
AFTERNOON. THE HEAVIEST RAIN WILL THEN SHIFT SOUTHWARD TO AREAS
MAINLY SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80 INTO THIS EVENING. TOTAL RAINFALL
AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 3 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY SOUTH OF
INTERSTATE 8O WHERE ISOLATED HIGHER AMOUNTS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE.
