SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE FORECAST TO DEVELOP ALONG
A FRONT THIS AFTERNOON AND GRADUALLY SHIFT SOUTHWARD THIS EVENING
BEFORE FADING. AREAS ALONG AND SOUTH OF U.S. HIGHWAY 34...OR FROM
MENDOTA TO DOWNTOWN CHICAGO...APPEAR MOST FAVORED TO EXPERIENCE
THESE STORMS.

WITHIN A MOISTURE RICH ATMOSPHERE...ANY STORM WILL BE CAPABLE OF
PRODUCING VERY HEAVY DOWNPOURS...WITH RAINFALL RATES OF ONE INCH
PER HOUR OR HIGHER AT TIMES. THE COVERAGE OF THESE RAINFALL RATES
MAY BE ONLY SCATTERED...HOWEVER THE STORMS WILL LIKELY BE SLOW
MOVING. IN ADDITION...DEVELOPMENT APPEARS LIKELY OVER THE SAME
AREAS WHICH HAVE OBSERVED HEAVY RAINFALL EARLIER THIS WEEK.

RAPID RIVER AND STREAM RISES AND LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING ARE
POSSIBLE IN THESE LOCATIONS.
