HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHICAGO IL
549 AM CST TUE MAR 8 2016 /649 AM EST TUE MAR 8 2016/

...MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF MODERATE RAIN MIDWEEK...

THE WEATHER PATTERN ACROSS THE REGION TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH
THURSDAY IS ONE THAT WILL FAVOR A COUPLE WAVES OF MODERATE TO
POSSIBLY HEAVY RAINFALL. CONFIDENCE IS FAIRLY HIGH IN MUCH OF THE
AREA SEEING AT LEAST AN INCH TO ONE AND A HALF INCHES OF RAIN
DURING THAT TIME. ALTHOUGH UNCERTAINTY STILL EXISTS IN WHICH
LOCATIONS MAY SEE TWO TO TWO AND A HALF INCHES OF RAIN...THERE ARE
INCREASING CONCERNS THAT AT LEAST A PORTION OF THE AREA WILL. AT
THIS POINT AREAS ALONG AND EAST OF INTERSTATE 55 WOULD BE
FAVORED...BUT CONFIDENCE ON THE AXIS OF HEAVY RAIN IS STILL ONLY
LOW TO MEDIUM AT THIS POINT. THIS WOULD INCLUDE THE
ILLINOIS...KANKAKEE...AND IROQUOIS RIVER BASINS. SOIL MOISTURE
REMAINS HIGH FOR THIS EARLY IN THE SPRING SEASON...AND SOME AREA
STREAMS ARE ALSO RUNNING HIGHER THAN NORMAL. RUNOFF FROM THIS
HEAVY RAINFALL MAY RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT RISES AND POSSIBLE
FLOODING ON AREA STREAMS AND RIVERS. THERE IS ALSO THE POTENTIAL
FOR AREAL FLOODING NAMELY IN AND AROUND DITCHES AND LOW-LYING
FIELDS.

THOSE WITH INTERESTS ALONG RIVERS SHOULD REMAIN UP TO DATE ON THE
LATEST WEATHER FORECASTS OVER THE COMING DAYS.
