...A Look Back at the Climate for the Month of January 2018 for
Chicago and Rockford...

At Chicago, the average high temperature was 31.9 degrees, which is
0.9 degree above normal. The average low temperature was 17.4
degrees, which is 0.9 degree above normal. The average temperature
for the month was 24.7 degrees which is 0.9 degree above normal.
During the month of January, 1.54 inches of precipitation were
recorded, which is 0.19 of an inch below normal. 4.6 inches of snow
were recorded, which is 6.2 inches below normal.

Two records were set for Chicago for the month of January 2018:
* Record daily low maximum temperature of 1 degree on the 1st.
* Record low average temperature of -4 degrees on the 1st.

At Rockford, the average high temperature was 29.7 degrees, which is
0.2 degree above normal. The average low temperature was 12.4
degrees, which is 1.1 degree below normal. The average temperature
for the month was 21.1 degrees, which is 0.4 degree below normal.
