Forgan, Dalhart, Stratford, Spearman, Gruver, Perryton, Booker,
Higgins, Follett, Hartley, Channing, Dumas, Borger, Miami,
Canadian, Vega, Amarillo, Panhandle, White Deer, Pampa, Shamrock,
Wheeler, Hereford, Canyon, Claude, Clarendon, and Wellington

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop this evening
across the Oklahoma Panhandle, and western sections of the Texas
Panhandle. The showers and thunderstorms will spread east and
south through the evening, bringing increasing chances for rain
tonight across the central and eastern portions of the Texas
Panhandle. Storms this evening will have the potential to
intensify rapidly, with some likely becoming strong or severe. The
main threats from these storms will be gusts around 60 MPH and
hail around one inch in diameter. Brief heavy rains will accompany
most of the showers and thunderstorms, with hourly rainfall
amounts up to one-half inch being common. Remain alert and be
ready to receive additional forecasts, statements and possible
warnings from the National Weather Service in Amarillo.
