Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

Skies varied from clear to cloudy across the Tri-State region
early Friday morning; some locations were also receiving light
rain. At 4 am MDT (5 am CDT) temperatures ranged from 36 degrees
in Goodland, Kansas to 46 degrees in Hill City, Kansas. Winds
were variable at 5 to 10 mph.

OUTLOOK... Friday will bring variable weather to the High Plains.
The morning hours will see rain showers in southwest Nebraska that
will spread across the region during the day. Rain showers and
isolated storms are possible in the afternoon. During the evening
and overnight hours, precipitation will begin to transition to
snow (rain snow mix in the eastern portions of the region) and
will continue into Saturday morning.

Today`s temperatures will be in the mid 40s to low 60s under skies
that will become mostly cloudy. Winds will be from the northwest
and shift to the northeast at 10 to 20 mph. Tonight`s
temperatures will drop into the upper 20s to mid 30s under cloudy
skies. Winds will be from the northeast and shift to the north at
15 to 25 mph.

Snow and rain continues through the weekend. Roads are expected to
become hazardous due to wet snow. Use caution.
