...DANGEROUS HEAT EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS WEEKEND...

WARM TEMPERATURES...COMBINED WITH DEWPOINTS IN THE 70S HAVE RESULTED
IN HEAT INDEX VALUES NEAR 100 DEGREES THIS AFTERNOON. THIS IS THE
FIRST TIME THIS SUMMER...THAT HEAT INDEX READINGS HAVE BEEN THIS
HIGH. A HEAT ADVISORY MAY NEED TO BE ISSUED IF LEVELS CONTINUE TO
RISE. RESIDENTS ARE URGED TO USE CAUTION IF OUTSIDE FOR AN
EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS AND TAKE FREQUENT
BREAKS SO AS NOT TO BECOME OVERHEATED.
