...Near record highs today...heat indices rising into the low to
mid 90s this afternoon....

Weather more typical of mid summer will continue today with highs
rising into the lower 90s with dewpoints in the middle to upper 60s.
These temperatures with the humidity will result in heat index
values into the lower to middle 90s for several hours this afternoon.
Winds will be southerly at 10 to 15 mph providing limited relief.

Afternoon highs may approach and possibly break records, especially
at Moline and Cedar Rapids.

Those who are planning outside activities are encouraged to take plenty
of water and take breaks from the heat.
