...Threat of localized flooding due to rain and snowmelt can be
expected Today and Tuesday...

.A warm front will move over eastern OR and WA Today with a
lingering band of precipitation over the East Slopes of the WA
Cascades, Simcoe Highlands, and Yakima and Kittitas Valleys.
Another front will move over the same areas on Tuesday. Rain
associated with these fronts, combined with snow melt, may cause
localized flooding.

Kittitas Valley-Yakima Valley-Simcoe Highlands-
Including the cities of Ellensburg, Thorp, Naches, Sunnyside,
Toppenish, Yakima, Goldendale, and Bickleton

the Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of central Washington, including the following
  areas, Kittitas Valley, Simcoe Highlands, and Yakima Valley.

* Through Tuesday afternoon

* Rainfall up to three quarters of an inch in the Simcoe
  Highlands and up to one half an inch in the Yakima and
  Kittitas Valleys may create localized flooding.

* Flooding near small streams and poor drainage areas is likely.
  Mudslides or sinkholes may also occur on hillsides and
  in saturated ground.|


A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor the latest forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
