COLDER AND DRIER CANADIAN HIGH PRESSURE MOVED INTO THE UPPER
MIDWEST LATE SATURDAY...BRINGING CLEARING SKIES AND MORE NORMAL
TEMPERATURES FOR LATE DECEMBER. SKIES REMAINED CLEAR ACROSS MUCH
OF THE REGION EARLY THIS MORNING. SOME CLOUDS WERE SPREADING
ACROSS NORTHERN MINNESOTA AND NORTHERN WISCONSIN AS A COLD FRONT
WAS SINKING SOUTH INTO THE REGION. EARLY MORNING TEMPERATURES
RANGED FROM ZERO TO 5 BELOW ACROSS FAR NORTHERN MINNESOTA...TO
THE UPPER 20S IN NORTHEAST ILLINOIS.

THE COLD FRONT WILL CONTINUE TO SINK SOUTH ACROSS THE REGION
TODAY...BRINGING AN EVEN COLDER AIRMASS TO THE AREA BY TONIGHT AND
THE START OF THE WORK WEEK. SOME CLOUDS WILL SPREAD ACROSS THE
REGION BUT IT WILL STILL BE A PARTLY TO MOSTLY SUNNY DAY FOR MUCH
OF THE UPPER MIDWEST. HIGHS TODAY ARE GOING TO RANGE FROM AROUND
10 ABOVE IN NORTHERN MINNESOTA TO THE MID AND UPPER 30S ACROSS
SOUTHERN IOWA.

HIGH PRESSURE AND COLDER AIR WILL SETTLE ACROSS THE REGION
TONIGHT. AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL SPREAD INCREASING CLOUDS
ACROSS IOWA AND NEARBY AREAS TONIGHT...ALONG WITH A CHANCE OF
LIGHT SNOW AND FLURRIES TO MAINLY THE WEST HALF OF IOWA. LOOK FOR
LOWS TONIGHT TO RANGE FROM ZERO TO 10 BELOW ACROSS NORTHERN
MINNESOTA AND NORTHERN WISCONSIN TO THE MID 20S ACROSS SOUTHERN
IOWA.

MONDAY WILL SEE BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES ACROSS MUCH OF THE UPPER
MIDWEST FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THREE WEEKS.
