Backcountry Forecast for western Montana and north central Idaho

DISCUSSION: Periods of low density snow is expected for much of
the area through Monday. A backdoor cold front will bring some
gusty winds and cooler temperatures across Glacier National Park
and into the Flathead Valley by this afternoon. Intense snow
showers are expected for much of southwest Montana this afternoon
and evening.

Wednesday will be windy with ridge top winds 40 to 50 mph, and an
even stronger wind event is on the horizon next weekend with the
potential for ridge top winds 60 to 70 mph and moderate to heavy
wet snow.
