...Elevated Fire Weather Potential Today...

Dry conditions persist across western Massachusetts and northwest
Connecticut with the overall recent lack of precipitation. Today,
northwest winds will gust up to 25 mph. These winds will combine
with warmer than normal temperatures in the mid to upper 60s, and
a dry airmass, to yield minimum relative humidity values of 30 to
40 percent. This will lead to an elevated fire weather potential
during the day time today.

...Breezy Winds and Dry Weather Increases Fire Weather Concerns
Today...

Fire officials advise against any open burning...including
campfires today across southern Vermont. The lack of
precipitation this month has led to very dry conditions. Northwest
winds 10 to 15 mph with localized gusts up to 25 mph are expected
today with minimum relative humidity values in the 30 to 40
percent range. All of these factors will increase the potential
for any fires that do start to spread quickly and become more
difficult to contain.
