...Turning Much Colder Today with a Wintry Mix...

Occasional light rain this morning will change to a period of
mixed precipitation during the late morning, afternoon and evening
across southern Wisconsin. In addition, surface and pavement
temperatures are expected to fall below freezing during the period
when the wintry mix is expected.

The combination of below freezing temperatures and a period of
sleet and light freezing rain may cause slippery spots and
difficult travel during the afternoon and early evening.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect this afternoon for the
Madison, Jefferson, Elkhorn, Mineral Point and Monroe areas, and
may need to be expanded to include additional areas of south
central and southeast Wisconsin.

Stay abreast of the latest forecast. Motorists should be
prepared to slow down and allow extra time for travel this
afternoon and evening.
