Mostly cloudy skies were in place across much of Wisconsin despite
high pressure over the area thanks clouds originating from storms
across Iowa and Illinois. These clouds helped keep temperatures in
the low 70s in northern Wisconsin and the upper 70s in southern
Wisconsin. The high pressure kept winds light throughout the day
across the state.
Rain and a few thunderstorms overspread the state as the night moved
along. There were some brief heavy downpours especially in the
south. Temperatures dropped off into the 50s in the north and mainly
Showers and a few thunderstorms will continue this morning as a
warmer, more humid airmass surges northward from the central Plains.
Nearby weak low pressure and a warm front may trigger some afternoon
showers and thunderstorms which will continue into the
Passing weak high pressure should bring a period of dry weather
later tonight into Sunday, however a few afternoon thunderstorms may
develop over northwest Wisconsin.
