Showers and thunderstorms persisted across the southern third of
Minnesota overnight. Heavy downpours and wind gusts to around 40 mph
occurred with the stronger storms. The cloud cover kept temperatures
mild, with pre-dawn readings ranging from the mid 40s to lower 50s
north to the mid 50s to lower 60s south.

Showers and thunderstorms will continue off and on across all but he
northwest part of the state today. Strong to severe storms will be
possible across the south, primarily this afternoon and evening.
Heavy downpours will also occur.  High temperatures will range from
the mid and upper 50s north to the mid 60s to lower 70s south.
Breezy northeast winds will also develop from west into central
Minnesota by the afternoon.

There will be a brief break in precipitation on Thursday afternoon
and evening, and then rain returns Friday with below normal
temperatures.
